Sanaa

About Sanaa

Sanaa is a rising Junior, Dance Major & Theatre Minor, with a 3.97 GPA, at Spelman College. She is attending Spelman on the Dean's Scholarship (Full tuition for all 4 years).  Sanaa's passions include acting, directing, dance, owning a for-profit business, and becoming a Founder & CEO of a nonprofit that helps homeless and needy people around the world, & owning a for-profit business.

Ever since kindergarten, Sanaa has dreamed about traveling the world and ending homelessness. While in the second grade, in 2010, Sanaa discovered a way to help accomplish her goal. She wrote a book entitled "Delicious Cake", sold copies of her book for $3 each, and donated 100% of the proceeds to various homeless nonprofits and foundations. Sanaa has since expanded her fundraising to include Walk-A-Thon's and etc. To date, Sanaa has given a total of $1,600 to 17 different homeless nonprofits and organizations in Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, and Georgia. It is Sanaa's plan to donate $100, each, to at least 10 nonprofits within each of the 50 states and Washington DC, a total of $51,000, prior to graduating high school. She then wants to begin donating money to homeless and needy nonprofits and organizations in cities outside the U.S., while still donating within the U.S

Additional Information

Sanaa has been conflicted with the problem of some people being homeless and some not homeless. She has labeled this problem as "MiSmAtCh". As a result, Sanaa hosted her first annual "Sanaa's Dream: Help the Homeless and Needy, MiSmAtCh Walk-a-thon", on June 13, 2015. She dressed up in mismatch clothing to represent the disparity between the two groups and completed a 5K walk.

Sanaa is far from reaching her goal of donating at least $51,000 (at least $100 to 10 different nonprofits and organizations in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.) by the end of high school. Even though the "MiSmAtCh" Walk-A-Thon has ended, for 2015, Sanaa is still accepting donations.

Please Help Sanaa reach her goal.
